Ivano Fanini, President of the Amore e Vita Team, expresses his deep and sincere sorrow for the passing of Piero Bini, who died at the age of 78 years. Piero Bini was a figure of absolute importance in the world of cycling. A close collaborator and right-hand man for years to Alfredo Martini at Ferretti and Sammontana, and particularly significant in the history of the Team Murella - Fanini (1986) and Remac - Fanini (1987 alongside Olivano Locatelli), of which he was a respected and appreciated sports director.
"With him, we not only shared great sporting achievements, but above all a relationship of deep friendship, built on mutual respect, loyalty, and authentic passion for this sport," explains a moved Ivano Fanini. "Unforgettable remains the historic victory of the Tirreno-Adriatico 1987 with a twenty-year-old Rolf Sørensen ahead of Francesco Moser, one of the most important moments in our sporting history. To this success is added the stage victory, also at the Tirreno of the same year with Sergio Finazzi. Another memorable page was the success in the 14th stage of the Giro d'Italia, the San Marino - Lido di Jesolo, conquered with Paolo Cimini, which further testifies to the technical and human value of Piero Bini. Today we remember Piero with great joy, gratitude, and deep emotion, certain that his example, his expertise, and his way of experiencing cycling will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of working with him and calling him a friend," concludes Fanini.
