Antonio Tiberi will not be among the protagonists of the next Giro d'Italia: the Lazio rider from Bahrain Victorious is preparing to make his debut at the Tour de France after an intense first part of the season.
Tiberi will kick off his 2026 in early February with the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, will then compete in the UAE Tour and finally return to Italy to tackle the Trofeo Laigueglia and Tirreno-Adriatico. In April, he will face the Itzulia Basque Country, while Liege will be the only major classic he will participate in, returning two days later to compete in a stage race like the Tour de Romandie.
No races in May, but plenty of work in preparation for his return to competition at the Tour Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes - which is simply the new name for the Dauphine - and then off to his Grande Boucle debut.
"An intense calendar, but I like the idea of racing a lot and always keeping the competition rhythm in my legs. The Tour? No proclamations, I just want to arrive in the best possible condition. Then we'll see. If there's an opportunity to compete for the overall classification, great, otherwise I'll chase a stage win."
