Thanks to two victories and five top-3 finishes in her first year in the World Tour, Monica Trinca Colonel has deservedly earned her confirmation with Liv AlUla Jayco, the team with which she will continue to compete in the top tier for the next two seasons.
The announcement was made by the Australian team itself, which, through a morning press release, did not hide its satisfaction with the two-year renewal of the twenty-six-year-old from Grosotto, who this year was crowned national road vice-champion behind Elisa Longo Borghini at the Italian Championships in Darfo Boario Terme.
"I am happy to have extended my contract with the team until 2027," stated the Valtellina athlete, winner this year of the final stage and the overall classification of the Tour de l'Ardèche.
"From the beginning, I found the ideal environment here to grow as a cyclist and received incredible support from everyone every day. I am aware of the team's trust in me, just as I trust them, so my goal is to repay this support and the hard work that the entire staff does behind the scenes with increasingly better results," Trinca Colonel explained.
"Since the beginning of the year, when she joined the team, Monica really impressed us," commented Liv AlUla Jayco sports director Wim Stroetinga.
"Her fourth place in the overall classification of the UAE Tour in February showed that she had great potential to build something important, and she confirmed this with good performances in spring. Despite some difficulties during the summer, she never gave up, and it was fantastic to see her tenacity rewarded with a stage win and overall victory at the Tour de l'Ardèche. We are happy that she has extended her contract with the team and can't wait to see how much she can grow as a cyclist with the support of the GreenEDGE staff," concluded the satisfied Dutch sports director.
For Trinca Colonel, after archiving important results in 2025 such as those obtained in the United Arab Emirates, but also at Binda (eighth), the Vuelta España Femenina (seventh in the overall and three times in the top ten of the stage), Tre Valli (sixth), Liège-Bastogne-Liège Femmes (eighth), and the Navarra Women's Elite Classic (sixth), here is the opportunity to continue growing in tranquility and take another step forward by relying on a top-level structure capable of highlighting her qualities and dedication.
