The AIOCC, International Association of Cycling Race Organizers, held its assembly in Copenhagen: a new Board of Directors was elected, which appointed Javier Guillen, General Manager of the Vuelta Ciclista a España, as President for four years (2026-2029). He succeeds Christian Prudhomme, AIOCC President since 2008, who did not seek re-election. "I spent 17 wonderful years with AIOCC, whose mission is to unite and bring people together. Now that we have surpassed 200 members, it's the right time to smoothly pass the baton," explained the Tour de France leader.
And his successor Javier Guillen adds: "It is a great honor to be elected President, a position of great responsibility. I want to continue the work done by Christian Prudhomme. We have a common goal within AIOCC: to improve cycling!"

UCI President David Lappartient stated: "I am pleased to have had the opportunity to participate in the AIOCC General Assembly held in Copenhagen. Organizers are key actors in men's and women's road cycling. Their role is central and our collaboration is essential for the success of our sport's development. Organizing cycling events is a challenging task that requires a lot of work and expertise, but cyclists deserve to express their talent in perfectly organized events. I would like to thank all organizers for their commitment throughout the season, as well as the Danish authorities, Sport Event Denmark, Wonderful Copenhagen and the Copenhagen Sprint organizers for their excellent hospitality. I congratulate Javier Guillen on his election as AIOCC president, an essential role among cycling actors. Finally, I would like to pay tribute to the passion and commitment of Christian Prudhomme, who has chaired AIOCC for the past 17 years."
