Added to the list of riders saying goodbye to the peloton at the end of this season is Geoffrey Bouchard, 33 years old. The Decathlon AG2r La Mondiale rider bid farewell to the group on Instagram: "After seven intense and memorable years, it's time to hang up the bike. 🚴♂️ My journey has been atypical, as I turned professional at 26. I would like to express my deep gratitude to my amateur club, @cr4croanne, which put me in the best possible conditions to become a professional, as well as @ucvoiron and Team Vulco. A huge thank you to @vlavenu for giving me this opportunity, as well as @decathlonag2rlamondiale. I will always remember the encounters, travels, and moments shared together. 🌍✈️
Perhaps I was not the most talented in the group, but through hard work, determination, and courage, I managed to showcase my potential and realize dreams I could never have imagined. 💪 Cycling has given me moments of joy, even though unfortunately injuries have marred the last few years. A huge thank you to the staff, team personnel, and cyclists I was fortunate to meet. You were all a source of inspiration and support. 🤝 Of course, I thank my family, friends, teammates, and those who left me too soon. It's the end of an adventure, but the beginning of a new chapter. Thank you all for your support during this journey".
Bouchard, who stopped racing in September after a fall in the Luxembourg Tour that cost him a collarbone fracture, wore the AG2r jersey throughout his entire career in its various iterations and leaves with one victory to his name, obtained in San Martino di Castrozza during the first stage of the Tour of the Alps 2022.
