Starting from Cabezon de la Sal to arrive at Angliru, tackling 202.7 kilometers that make this stage the longest of the entire race. The first part, as said, will see riders pedaling along the coast, but it will be when they turn to enter Asturias that the difficulties will begin.
At km 153 comes the Alto de La Mozqueta, first category, 6.3 km at 8.4%. A quick descent and here we are at the Alto El Cordal, also first category with its 5.5 km at 8.8%. From the summit, 21 kilometers will remain to the finish, a little less than ten downhill and then facing the Altu de L'Angliru, with its 12.7 km at 9.4% average gradient. As Fernando Escartin, who designs the race stages, says, tackling the Cueña les Cabres with almost 200 km in the legs will put the overall favorites to a tough test. And those who will struggle on these slopes will inevitably have to say goodbye to their dreams of glory.
