Rogantino forever and today even more so.
Simone Roganti left this world a year ago at just 21 years old due to a terrible illness. He is missed every day by his family and friends, who gathered today in Spoltore to feel less nostalgic.
300 people remembered him in front of the mural that immortalized him forever in the blue jersey by doing what he loved most, cycling.
Those who loved
Simone Roganti (intentionally using the present tense because feelings survive death and have no time) met this morning to celebrate the life of this
young man who was on the verge of realizing his professional cycling dream. Celebrating his too-short life were former professionals Danilo di Luca, Ruggero Marzoli, Alessandro Spezialetti, Matteo Rabottini, Stefano Giuliani and the entire Masciarelli family; entrepreneurs like Valentino Sciotti, whose Vini Fantini and Farnese have supported the cycling world for years; Maurizio Formichetti, who designed many stages of Tirreno-Adriatico and Giro d'Italia in Abruzzo, including the grand start of the pink race three years ago from Fossacesia Marina; organizers like Simone Gazzoli and Adriano Spinozzi of Gran Premio Capodarco, the summer classic for young champions like Simone was; and even group teammates like Jacopo Gioia, Simone's race rival who really wanted to be there.
All on the bike for him.

Unable to be physically present was his longtime training partner Gaia Realini, busy with races with Lidl-Trek, who early in the morning posted a moving thought on her social media accompanied by images of the many kilometers they covered together with "her" Simo.
Hey, how's it going?! This is how our conversations would start and then, without dwelling too much, it was... see you at 9:00 at Franca's, okay?!
It was our meeting point to start training, our reference point for our daily dose of good sugars!
A year has passed since that cursed day, when you left me with a message that said: "SEE YOU TOMORROW😉".
I don't know which tomorrow you were referring to, but I know you left me speechless, with the wind in my face (well, yes, I miss who used to pull 🥺)
Every day when I pass through the roads I used to ride with you, I realize you flew to heaven too soon...
THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE, YOU WERE SO MUCH
PEDAL AMONG THE CLOUDS!
I LOVE YOU SIMO ❤️
Wherever you are, today's ride and ice cream are for Rogantino.
