La Vuelta starts from Turin, with the Uae Team Emirates XRG having stayed for a few nights at Continassa, specifically at the Jhotel, just a stone's throw from the Allianz Stadium. So how could a cycling fanatic like Mattia Perin not take advantage of this more than delightful opportunity to meet some of his idols in person? Said and done.
The Juventus goalkeeper simply moved within the walls of his home, given that Continassa is the "buen retiro" of Igor Tudor's team. For the Bianconeri goalkeeper, it was a bath of passion, like a child in a pastry shop or an amusement park. The Jhotel was also hosting the Bahrain Victorius of Antonio Tiberi and the Soudal Quick-Step of Mikel Landa. However, the Bianconeri goalkeeper spent more time with the white (and red) riders of UAE Team Emirates – XRG, the team of world champion Pogacar, who at this Vuelta relies on Portuguese Almeida and Spaniard Ayuso. The UAE management met with Perin, complete with jersey exchange. Perin met several riders, including Spaniard Marc Soler and Chief Operating Officer Andrea Agostini. Also present was Johnny Carera (partner/founder of A&J Allsports, and manager of Pogacar among others).
