The fastest man in the world is Matthew Richardson: the British sprinter has broken the world record for 200 meters flying at the Konya velodrome track, recording a time of 8.941 seconds. He is the first man in history to go under nine seconds and beat the previous record by 146 milliseconds, which belonged to Dutch rider Harrie Lavreysen at 9.088. Richardson pedaled at an incredible speed of 80.527 kilometers per hour.
After Bjergfielt's record in the Paralympic Hour record for the C5 category, this is the second record broken today by a British athlete in the Turkish velodrome: there was no third record as Charlie Tandfield failed to beat or even approach Ganna's Hour record.
