
The 2025 edition of the International Grand Prix of Fiorenzuola - Six Days of White Roses closes with a bang, with the final evening bringing down the curtain on the week of great track cycling at the "Attilio Pavesi" velodrome.
A great crowd, increasing attendance throughout the six days, the surprise presence of 2024 Olympic Omnium champion Benjamin Thomas on the track, and the last two Elite races out of a total of 18 providing spectacular entertainment.
The enthusiasm of the youngest - Giovanissimi in the First Sprints and Cadets in the Points Race - set the stage for the grand finale. Standing ovations for the two decisive races: the Women's Points Race and the Men's Madison, with the traditional standing ovation from the audience during the final lap.
BFT BURZONI GRAND PRIX - WOMEN'S ELITE POINTS RACE, MARION BORRAS WINS
The final women's race of the Six Days, the points race (BFT Burzoni-Alberto Burzoni Memorial), saw France triumph, with Marion Borras dominating and scoring 47 points. The 2024 European Madison Champion dictated the pace with regular sprints and always lucid race management. Behind her, an excellent performance by Chiara Consonni, second with 37 points: the bergamasque, Olympic gold medalist in Paris in the Madison, confirmed her class. On the third step of the podium, the other French rider Valentine Fortin, who finished with 34 points.
SIDERPIGHI GRAND PRIX - MEN'S ELITE MADISON, RUSSIA GOLD IN FRONT OF ITALY
An exciting conclusion accompanied the Men's Elite Madison, dominated by the pair of Viktor Bugaenko and Daniil Zarakovskiy. The two won most of the sprints and gained a decisive lap, closing at the top with authority. A beautiful performance by the Italian riders Matteo Fiorin and Matteo Donegà, second with a performance of great heart and technique: for Donegà, moved after the awards, it was his last appearance in Fiorenzuola. Third place for Vogel-Kuboki, an international pair of experience and quality. Medals and prizes were presented by Fiorenzuola Mayor Romeo Gandolfi and Giovanni Pighi.
YOUTH RACES, CADETS AND YOUNG RIDERS ON THE TRACK
The youngest warmed up the track at the beginning of the evening. Girls and boys in the Giovanissimi category (up to 12 years old) competed in the "First Sprints", bringing smiles to the "Remembering Giordana" - Assiprimai GP. Moments of great enthusiasm in the stands and on the track, with audience encouragement and a festive atmosphere that involved everyone, confirming the educational and social value of such events. The Cadets race was also exciting: first Leonardo Manfredi (Cavriago), second Elia Spelta (Madignanese), and third Filippo Granari (Torrile).
Thus ended six days of great track cycling, with over 150 athletes from around the world (26 different countries), with Olympic and world champions who gave prestige to the event. The audience responded, as usual, with great participation, increasing evening after evening, until tonight's full house. An event that, beyond being a world reference point for track cycling, is deeply rooted in the territory.
