Known for its unpredictability, the Tour de Pologne often gets decided by just a few seconds and this year promises spectacular action. The 82nd edition of the UCI WorldTour race will start on Monday and conclude on Sunday.
During the seven stages scheduled, riders will compete for stage victories and the ORLEN general classification. Those aiming for the prestigious yellow jersey will need to remain vigilant from the first to the last kilometer: although mountain stages and the individual time trial seem like the most decisive moments, history has shown that time gaps can form at any moment.
Among the names in the provisional start list are Antonio Tiberi, Ethan Hayter, Brandon McNulty, Daniel Felipe Martínez and Polish stars Rafał Majka and Michał Kwiatkowski. As an event in the UCI WorldTour calendar, the 82nd Tour de Pologne has attracted top teams with their best riders. UAE Team Emirates-XRG lines up with a high-level formation including the Polish champion and Tour de Pologne winner Rafał Majka, together with the versatile Jan Christen and Brandon McNulty.
The varied route of this edition, which includes challenging stages and a time trial, favors complete riders. Spotlight on Pello Bilbao and Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious). Tiberi secured a podium at the recent Tirreno-Adriatico, demonstrating great time trial ability. INEOS Grenadiers will also field a competitive team with young talent Magnus Sheffield and the returning world champion and former Tour de Pologne winner Michał Kwiatkowski.
The start list is further enriched with Daniel Felipe Martínez (Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe), second at the 2024 Giro d'Italia, and Ethan Hayter (Soudal–Quick Step), winner of the ORLEN general classification three years ago.
The 82nd edition group will also see Matthew Brennan (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), one of the season's revelations, alongside time trial specialists Stefan Küng and Rémi Cavagna (Groupama-FDJ), French champion Dorian Godon (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale), Max Poole (Team Picnic PostNL), Alberto Bettiol and Diego Ulissi (XDS Astana Team).
The Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will take place from August 4th to 10th, on a route from Wrocław to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The race will be broadcast on TVP, Eurosport and the HBO Max streaming platform, reaching fans in 65 countries worldwide.
