Martin Svrcek will continue his journey with Soudal Quick-Step, adding one more year to his contract and committing to the team until the 2026 season.
After becoming a professional with the Wolfpack in 2022, the 22-year-old Czech has consistently grown within the squad and this year played a key role in securing the team's first European victory at the Etoile de Bessèges, before lining up at the start of several classics.
However, his spring campaign was abruptly interrupted by a serious accident during the descent of the Cipressa at Milan-San Remo, which caused him multiple fractures, including his right clavicle, shoulder, and several ribs. After months of rehabilitation, he successfully returned to racing in June, signing a brilliant performance at the Slovak National Championships, where he won two medals.
Now training in Val di Fassa with several teammates, Martin shared his excitement about the new agreement: "I want to thank the team for the support they have shown me, both after the crash and in accepting this new contract. Before Milan-San Remo, I was feeling really good and ready to race, and that mentality hasn't changed. Year after year, I've felt myself improving: if I can stay healthy and consistent next season, I can truly demonstrate my value to the team in many races".
Jürgen Foré, CEO of Soudal Quick-Step, welcomed the decision, stating: "Martin is an extraordinary character and we are very happy that he will remain with us in 2026. His resilience and determination, particularly after his terrible accident, have been a source of inspiration. We know how talented and committed he is and we can't wait to help him obtain the opportunities he deserves".
