It's a period of intense competitive activity for Velo Club Sovico and Pool Cantu' - Sovico - GB Team. In recent days, the Regional Track Championships took place, and the Brianza team brought their Juniors to the podium in various specialties and regions. Tuscan Marco Migheli, competing at the "Enzo Sacchi Velodrome" in Florence, won the regional title in the Speed specialty, beating Giacomo Zanella (Petrucci) and Giusco Sanesi (Fosco Bessi).
At the Servadei Velodrome in Forlì, Marco Gregori secured the victory and the regional championship jersey of Emilia Romagna in the Team Pursuit (with Manfredi, Bersani, Rapisarda, and Caroppo); the rider from Piacenza also returned to the top of the podium in the Madison specialty and finished second in the Omnium. A double silver medal for Lombard Simone Marconi, who, at the Battaglia Velodrome in Busto Garolfo, placed second in the Madison (raced with Belani from Romanese) and the Omnium.
STAGE RACE IN FRIULI Commitment outside the region for the Junior riders Maffei, Casabona, Cariato, and Bulanti, who have been racing since yesterday at "Le Fiumane": four stages through Friuli. After the inaugural stage contested in Criterium format over 43 kilometers, Friday will feature an individual time trial of 7 kilometers, while Saturday and Sunday will see La Bannia/Clauzzetto of 73 kilometers and Cimpello/Bannia with the same distance.
WEEKEND IN COSTA MASNAGA. On Saturday, July 19th, the Young Riders of Velo Club Sovico will be competing in Costa Masnaga, in the Lecco area, where the "Mario Mauri Trophy" races will take place: the event will start at 9:30 AM, and we are sure the boys and girls of the "Velo" will give their best to perform well, just as they did last Sunday in Figino Serenza, where the team led by Vergani, Costa, and Rigamonti secured second place in the team classification. The Juniors of Pool Cantu' - Sovico - GB Team will also race in Costa Masnaga. Migheli and Gregori - fresh from their track commitments and top-10 finishes in Rescaldina last Sunday - will lead the team over the 72 kilometers scheduled for July 20th. Alongside them, coaches Ferrari, Alberti, and Buttini have called up: Pellizzon, Signorelli, and Marconi.
