
The National Championships start in the best possible way for the MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack team. A significant double success arrives in the time trial event. In the U23 category, Takacs Zsombor's victory stands out, winning the race in Hungary with a time of 46:03, averaging 49.511 km/h. Balint Makrai finished 4th, 2'43" behind. An excellent team result that confirms the value of the Hungarian group.
"I came out of the Giro Next Gen in excellent condition and I also performed well in the prologue. I'm happy with this first important result, which I dedicate to the team" - said the new Hungarian time trial champion.
The success is further enriched by the Junior group, which recently won gold in the road race with Ádám Révész and the 3rd place by Boldizsár Zsembery. In today's time trial, Boldizsár Zsembery secured the bronze medal.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. The team is preparing to tackle other national championships. Five Hungarian riders are competing on home soil: Mark Valent, Balogh Zsombor, Makrai Balint, Takács Zsombor, Vas Barnabas Abel.
Pavel Novak, fresh from a podium finish at the U23 Giro, is competing in the Czech Republic. The lanky climber will race in the U23 road race on Saturday and will repeat the performance in the Elite category on Sunday.
Regarding the Italian championships, the road race awarding the national title will be held on Sunday the 29th in Friuli. For the MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack formation at the start: Matteo Ambrosini, Christian Bagatin, and Luca Cretti. In the team car, Flavio Miozzo.
On the same day, the U23 title will be contested in Darfo Boario Terme. In the team car, Gianluca Valoti and Rossella Dileo. Racing: Diego Bracalente, Cesare Chesini, Lorenzo Masciarelli, Lorenzo Nespoli, Manuel Oioli, Leonardo Vesco, and Matteo Fiorin.
"The Italian championship is raced on a challenging course - explains Gianluca Valoti - and we'll be competing on two fronts, with U23 and Elite professional riders. We have well-prepared riders who are performing well, especially those coming out of the Giro Next Gen with a lively pedal stroke. We'll have riders in three countries, which will be a significant logistical challenge. As for the result, national championships are always a unique race, open to many solutions. Fingers crossed for everything."
There will be other races on July 1st: the night "International City of Brescia" classic with Bagatin, Chesini, Oioli, Takacs, and Vesco. In the team car, Davide Martinelli.
On July 6th, the Medio Brenta, a race dear to the Ballan family, with Flavio Miozzo in the team car. The roster is yet to be defined.
