Abrupt stop for Lorenzo Finn who, after falling yesterday at the Giro dell'Appennino, has suffered a compound fracture of the left collarbone. The Ligurian rider, born in 2006, was forced to immediately withdraw and underwent medical examinations in the post-race that confirmed the extent of the injury. The rider with Red Bull Bora-Hansgrohe Rookies is therefore forced to miss the Under23 National Championships scheduled this weekend in Darfo Boario Terme.
A stop that complicates the seasonal schedule of the Ligurian talent: it will be necessary, after the recovery period, to evaluate the approach program for the Tour de l'Avenir scheduled from August 23rd to 29th, which would be one of Finn's major events this season after his excellent sixth place at the recent Giro Next Gen and winning the best climber jersey.
All decisions regarding this will be made in the coming weeks by the German team's doctors, in agreement with his sports directors.
