JCL Team Ukyo triumphs in the Japanese national championship. In the road race, held on the challenging Shizuoka course, Marino Kobayashi wins again, coming in as the defending champion.
The 1994-born rider attacked in the last of the 20 scheduled laps at the Japan Cycle Sports Center. None of his rivals managed to stay on his wheel, allowing him to cross the finish line alone.
For Marino Kobayashi, this is his first victory wearing the JCL Team Ukyo jersey, which he joined at the start of this season.
The Japanese national championship was animated by numerous attacks. Among these, was the attack by JCL Team Ukyo's Koki Kamada, who was in a breakaway trying to surprise his rivals and allow his teammates to remain safe in the peloton without spending energy in the chase.
As the kilometers passed, Kamada's advantage diminished. With 4 laps to go, the Asian U23 champion was reabsorbed by the group of favorites, which by then counted no more than ten riders.
The attack by the defending champion Marino Kobayashi, who until that moment had been kept hidden thanks to the excellent work of his teammates, came within the final and decisive lap.
The JCL Team Ukyo rider continued alone to the finish, triumphing with a 25" lead over Genki Yamamoto and 56" over Sohei Kaneko.
A triumphant day for JCL Team Ukyo, which as a Japanese team had high ambitions in the race.
