The eighteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia 108 will start from Morbegno. Also this year, for the 23rd consecutive year, Banca Mediolanum is the official sponsor of the Mountain Grand Prix, reconfirming its connection with the Blue Jersey and one of the most beloved sporting events in Italy.
A new edition of "A Ride in the Giro" is confirmed for 2025, the amateur cycling initiative dedicated to clients and cycling enthusiasts, organized by Banca Mediolanum along the Giro d'Italia stages. A unique opportunity to experience the Giro atmosphere firsthand, anticipating the race and pedaling alongside the great champions who made Italian cycling history: Maurizio Fondriest, Francesco Moser and Dalia Muccioli and Paralympic athletes Fabrizio Macchi and Nicola Dutto.
The meeting point is in Casatenovo (Lecco), at the Family Banker Office (FBO) in via Misericordia 4, at 12:00. The cycling ride will start at 12:50, with arrival expected in Cesano Maderno on the line where professionals will soon compete for victory, after a flat 30 km route. The initiative was organized by Claudio Gilioli, Lombardy Regional Manager of Banca Mediolanum.
"STORIES ON TWO WHEELS: A CHAMPION'S WORD". Numerous Paralympic athletes will participate in the inclusive ride, including Fabrizio Macchi and Nicola Dutto, already in the blue jersey from Lonigo to Vicenza on the day commemorating Ennio Doris.
Fabrizio Macchi, who has two world para-cycling championships and a Paralympic medal from the Athens Games, commented at the end of the commemorative ride for the founder of Banca Mediolanum: "I am at the Giro d'Italia also for cystic fibrosis research: everyone needs help, patients are missing a breath, and I am here to promote two important projects: 1 in 30, which is an invitation to undergo specific exams, and the 5x1000, fundamental for research development".
Nicola Dutto, a motorcyclist victim of a serious accident in 2010, who saw his life change radically in one day, never stopped and invites others facing unexpected challenges to do the same. The first paraplegic pilot in the world to participate in the Dakar (in 2019), he loves two-wheeled vehicles with and without motors, and says on his handbike: "I am happy to be here, alongside Massimo (Doris, ed) and many important friends and champions. Wearing this blue jersey is always a heartfelt moment for me".
From these emotions comes "Stories on Two Wheels: A Champion's Word", the new space curated by Banca Mediolanum. In each stage, one of our testimonials will share a memory, an anecdote, a personal connection with the places crossed by the Giro. A collective narrative of roads, effort, and beauty, where every pedal stroke speaks of passion, memory, and pride.
"FRAGILE, BUT POWERFUL". FONDAZIONE MEDIOLANUM'S PROJECT FOR THE FUTURE OF CHILDREN WITH NEUROLOGICAL DISABILITIES
In 2025, Fondazione Mediolanum renews its commitment to childhood by supporting "Fragile, but Powerful", the new fundraising campaign of the year. The project aims to provide 1,064 children with complex neurological conditions and their families with a personalized rehabilitation and support path, in collaboration with three excellent organizations: Fondazione Don Gnocchi, Fondazione Fight The Stroke, and Fondazione TOG.
"Fragile, but Powerful" targets minors living with cognitive, motor, and communication difficulties, caused by genetic, congenital, or perinatal trauma lesions. The campaign will offer them access to innovative rehabilitation treatments, integrated with traditional techniques, with the goal of bringing out and enhancing their untapped potential. The project also includes a dedicated psychological support path for parents, to help them in the delicate task of raising and supporting a child with complex disabilities. This year too, Fondazione Mediolanum will double the first 60,000 euros raised, multiplying the impact of each donation.
The Giro d'Italia will be a special opportunity to raise awareness nationwide, bringing the project's message directly to people and promoting a culture of care and inclusion.
