Alessio Magagnotti conquers victory in the 4th Gran Premio Ecotek - 4th Gran Premio MC Assistance, the first stage of the Two Days of Brescia and Bergamo, a national race reserved for the Junior category, also associated with the Giro della Franciacorta. The Autozai-Contri rider outsprints a group of ten. Behind him are Giulio Franceschini (Ciclistica Trevigliese), best young rider, and Mattia Proietti Gagliardoni (ASD Team Franco Ballerini), winner of the Eroica Juniors a week ago.
137 athletes at the start. In the early stages of the race, three riders break away: Marco Andrea Pienotto (Autozai Contri), Eric Zanolini (Petrucci Assali) and Lorenzo Basso (F.lli Giorgi). The peloton lets them go, but the gap reduces as the kilometers pass.
During the sixth of seven initial laps, the race splits and the cards are reshuffled. Ten riders move to the front after various attacks. Soon, however, the situation changes and three riders try to break away: Pietro Solavaggione (Team F.lli Giorgi), Patrik Pezzo Rosola (Petrucci Assali Stefen) and Riccardo Galli (Capriolo).
About 6 km from the finish, the three are reabsorbed and the group of ten reforms at the front. No one manages to escape, and victory is decided in a tight sprint with Magagnotti celebrating in front of the ECOTEK headquarters.
The words of the winner Alessio Magagnotti immediately after the finish line: "I'm happy with the result. I hadn't raced for two weeks, I came back and it went well. I suffered on the last climb but managed to get back to the front. I had a small issue with the saddle on the descent but adapted. In the final kilometers, I rode at the front, controlling that no one would attack. I started the sprint from second position at 200 meters and gave it my all to the finish line. Tomorrow" - referring to the second stage of the Two Days of Brescia and Bergamo - "is another race and we'll see how it goes".
Satisfaction in the words of Luigi Braghini, President of Team ECOTEK and head of the organizing committee of the Two Days of Brescia and Bergamo: "I'm satisfied with how it went. It was a beautiful race. The final climb was the key point of the event and the strongest rider won. Beyond passion, I'm happy to make our resources and capabilities available to the riders. For Ecotek, today is a great celebration".
