All it takes is a sheet of paper, some colors, and a touch of imagination to best tell the emotions of cycling, and the children from San Martino in Trignano Primary School have proven this for the second time in three years. The 3rd-grade class from the Spoleto institute has won the 3rd edition of "Pedaling in Dreams: Children and Bicycle... An Infinite Love", a thematic drawing contest now open to all school branches in the Umbria region.
The initiative promoted by the Spoleto Bicycle Club "Castellani Impianti" has thus taken on a regional dimension this year, always with the goal of bringing young children closer to the world of pedal-powered two-wheelers. The overall good number of entries and the participants' unique ability to capture the sensations evoked by the vehicle most closely linked to childhood made the jury's task not simple. The panel, chaired by painter Maura Coltorti and including Danilo Chiodetti (Spoleto Municipality Culture Assessor), Luigina Renzi (Education Assessor), Federico Cesaretti (Spoleto Municipality Sports Delegate), Donatella Ministrini (wife of the late Spoleto champion Francesco Cesarini), and Paolo Orazi (contest creator and Bicycle Club team manager), was guided in choosing the winner by the emotional aspect and the recall of the deepest sensations related to the contest theme. The creation by the 3rd-grade class from San Martino in Trignano speaks precisely of emotions and suggestions, skillfully proposing a enchanting collective work built around the concept of "infinite love". A special sensitivity that had already emerged strongly in 2023, when the same class won the inaugural edition of the contest.
The winners will now meet on May 31st at the Rocca Tour, during the 5th Francesco Cesarini Memorial. At the end of the prestigious event that, as every year, will involve the Youngest category, there will be a prize-giving ceremony full of surprises for teachers and children, who will be able to closely admire the races of their peers and share the stage of the protocol ceremony. A grand finale for one of the most successful projects of the Spoleto Bicycle Club, which with "Pedaling in Dreams" has also created an effective window of dialogue and union between sports and school. The support of the Spoleto Municipal Administration was once again fundamental this year, recognizing all the potential of an initiative destined to find continuity in the future, including at the regional level.
