Pierre Gautherat claims victory in the Valenciennes / Famars, third stage of the 4 Days of Dunkirk. After 154 kilometers characterized by hills, cobblestone sections, and wind, the 22-year-old from Colmar racing for Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team celebrates his first career victory by crossing the finish line with a minimal advantage over the group led by Jake Stewart of Israel - Premier Tech. General classification leader Axel Zingle (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) finished in third place, while Alberto Dainese (Tudor Pro Cycling Team) concluded in seventh position, the best of the Italian riders.
Gautherat, second in the Tro-Bro Léon, made his decisive move one kilometer from the finish, counterattacking after Alberto Bettiol had selected the group with one of his progressions, which we have already appreciated several times in these days.
With today's victory, Gautherat climbs the general classification and moves into second place, just 4" behind Zingle. Tomorrow, during the fourth stage, the athletes will pedal 172 kilometers from La Chapelle d'Armentières to Cassel.
