The two energy giants have been involved in several high-finance operations in recent years and are now working to join forces and create a super team.
This data clearly confirms what we wrote today in the article about the growing interest of funds and major sponsors in cycling.
Ineos and TotalEnergies could therefore create a team that can put up to 70 million euros on the table and thus needs to find a top-level captain. The choice, obviously here we are in the realm of "they say" and "could", is about to fall on Remco Evenepoel, the one among the greats with the least locked-in contract, since he is committed to Soudal Quick Step until 2026. And the key to reaching the two-time Olympic champion could be Specialized, the American bicycle manufacturer that has always been by Remco's side.
