The good moment of Team Solution Tech–Vini Fantini at the Tour de Kumano continues, with Dušan Rajović still a great protagonist in the second stage, the 126.7 km Koruzo - Mitogawa route. On a day complicated by rain, the Serbian rider confirmed his excellent form, staying always among the front runners and giving his best in the finale. Despite the group's work to close down all attempts, the Japanese rider Shunsuke Imamura (Wanty-NIPPO-ReUz) managed to surprise with a breakaway in the final kilometers. Rajović nonetheless imposed himself with authority in the chasing group's sprint, securing an excellent second place and reaffirming his status as one of the absolute protagonists of this edition.
Dušan Rajović is now in second position in the general classification, just 3" behind the leader, and maintains the provisional points classification jersey.
"It was not a simple stage," declared DS Leonardo Canciani, "The route was nervous, with narrow and tricky roads, made even more difficult by the rain. The team worked very well to keep the race under control: unfortunately, a local athlete managed to make a move and arrive alone at the finish line, but we are nonetheless very satisfied with Dušan's performance."
Tomorrow will see the third of the four stages, with start and finish in Kumano.
