Enrico Paolini, the former Marche region professional cyclist, passed away during the night after battling an illness: he had turned 80 years old last March 26th. From Pesaro, Paolini was a professional from 1969 to 1979, achieving seven stage victories in the Giro d'Italia, five in the Tour of Switzerland, three Italian national championships (1973, 1974, and 1977), and a Milano-Torino race.
After retiring, he served as an assistant sports director for numerous Italian professional teams, including Carrera, Del Tongo, GB-MG Boys, Scrigno, Cantina Tollo, Domina Vacanze, and Acqua & Sapone.
To pay tribute to him, we are republishing here a wonderful article dedicated to him by our Giuseppe Figini.
Our editorial team sends their heartfelt condolences and embrace to the Paolini family.
