AVONDETTO RENEWS WITH WILIER-VITTORIA UNTIL 2028: WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GOAL

The story between Simone Avondetto and the Wilier-Vittoria MTB Factory Team will continue for at least another 4 seasons. The talented Piedmontese rider has signed a contract renewal that will tie him to the Italian team until 2028, with the goal of adding new important chapters to the partnership that began in 2022, in his last year as a U23.
The desire is to further enrich a palmares that is becoming increasingly interesting. In 2022, he won the Italian XCO Championship, the European title, and the World Championship, all in the U23 category. In his two years as an elite rider, after a long absence due to mononucleosis, he won the Italian Short Track Championship, two World Cup podiums, and in the mud of Cheile Gradistei, the Elite XCO European Championship title - the first Italian ever to achieve this feat, closing the season among the top 10 riders in the UCI ranking.
"For me, Wilier-Vittoria represents a second family, the ideal place to continue growing gradually, as has happened so far," said Avondetto. "Since I arrived in this great team, I've had many beautiful satisfactions, but I've also gone through some difficult moments, like the endless mononucleosis that hit me in 2023. In that moment, the team always made me feel their closeness, not lacking anything, and there I understood I was truly in the right place. I can't wait to repay this trust with many beautiful performances on racecourses around the world."
