Andrea Bagioli will be a XDS Astana Team rider starting next season. The 27-year-old has signed a two-year contract valid for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
A cyclist specializing in one-day races, known for his aggressive racing style, the Valtellina native's main achievements include victory at the Gran Piemonte and second place in the Monument Il Lombardia in 2023, as well as stage wins at the Volta a Catalunya, Tour de Wallonie, Tour of Slovakia and other competitions. This season, Bagioli won a stage at the Tour of Austria, finished third on a stage at the Tour de Suisse and achieved fifth place at the Grand Prix Miguel Indurain.
"As soon as I learned about XDS Astana Team's interest and received the offer, I immediately felt it would be the right choice for me. It's a project I've always followed with interest and now the opportunity to be part of it truly excites me. I know many of my future teammates well and have always heard them speak very positively about the team. I think I'll be able to integrate quickly into the squad and demonstrate what I can do over these two seasons. My main objective is to fight for victory whenever the opportunity presents itself, while also contributing to the achievement of the team's important goals," said Andrea Bagioli.
"Andrea started his professional career at a young age, quickly making a name for himself and achieving a series of important results. We have been following this rider for a long time and now we have the opportunity to bring him into our project. I believe that at XDS Astana Team, Bagioli will have the chance to fully express his potential. Our team performs well in one-day races, which represent one of our priority areas, and Andrea Bagioli's arrival should help us further improve our results. Furthermore, he boasts extensive experience in the Grand Tours, a factor that is always very important for us," said Alexandr Vinokurov.
