Two great champions to accompany the passage of the Olympic torch from Greece to Italy: Jasmine Paolini and Filippo Ganna will take the final steps of the Olympic flame in Greek territory and accompany it to the handover ceremony in Italy on Thursday, December 4th.
The ceremony will take place at 11 AM, local time in Athens, at the Panathenaic Stadium: Paolini and Ganna will conclude the torch's Greek journey, which began in Olympia with Stefania Belmondo and Armin Zoeggeler. Inside the stadium, the torch will officially pass from the President of the Greek Olympic Committee, Isidoros Kouvelos, to Giovanni Malagò, president of the Milan Cortina Foundation. The flame will arrive in Italy by flight, landing in Fiumicino at 5 PM and from there will begin its long journey towards the opening ceremony of the Games scheduled for February 6th in Milan.
