Team Bahrain Victorious is pleased to announce the signing of Alessandro Borgo for the next three seasons. The talented Italian rider will move from the development squad to the WorldTour team, confirming the team's goal of offering a clear growth path for young talents towards the UCI WorldTour and underlining their commitment to nurturing the next generation of cyclists.
Currently in his second year with the U23 squad, the twenty-year-old has earned a spot in the WorldTour team through his talent and a series of notable results. Among his main achievements this year are the U23 Italian Road Champion title and a prestigious victory at Gent-Wevelgem U23, where he had already finished fifth in 2024. In 2025, he further impressed at the Giro Next Gen, securing second place in the Acqui Terme stage.
A sprinter with a classics aptitude, Borgo has also shown he can hold his own in the mountains, as recently demonstrated at the Tour de l'Avenir. This season, he has already gained experience racing with the Bahrain Victorious WorldTour team in various events, including the Tour de la Provence—where he made a seasonal debut with a top-ten placement—, the Tour de Wallonie, and various one-day races such as Grand Prix Criquielion, Grote Prijs Jean-Pierre Monseré, Danilith Nokere Koerse, De Brabantse Pijl, and Boucles de l'Aulne.
His talent has also been recognized by the Italian National Team, which selected him to participate in both the U23 time trial and U23 road race at the World Championships in Rwanda.
Alessandro Borgo shared his enthusiasm for joining the WorldTour team: "I am grateful to be joining the WorldTour Team. It's a dream I've had since childhood, and now it has come true. However, as I always say, this is not an endpoint, but a starting point, because I have big ambitions and will work hard to achieve important goals with the team in the coming years. I am determined to succeed and thankful to all the people who have supported me—my family, friends, and all the teams I've ridden for while growing up through the junior categories. If I become a professional today, it is not just my own merit, but also that of everyone who has supported and accompanied me along the way".
