
Abel Balderstone, a 24-year-old rider with Caja Rural - Seguros RGA, secured his first professional victory in the Spanish national time trial championship, covering the 14-kilometer course in 29'27". The Catalan cyclist beat David de la Cruz from Q36.5 and Raúl García Pierna from Arkea, who finished second and third, 22" and 25" behind respectively.
The national Spanish event also saw victories for Mireia Benito (AG Insurance - Soudal Team) in the elite women's category, Paula Blasi (UAE ADQ) in the U23 women's category, Adrian Fajardo (Vigo - Rias Baixas) in the U23 men's category, and Benjamín Noval (MMR Academy) in the Junior category. The 16-year-old son of a cycling family, who will join the worldtour with INEOS Grenadiers in 2027, completed the 8-kilometer course in 18'30". Behind him were Ibai Villate (Alimco – Campagnolo), second with a 35" deficit, and Luca Martinez (GT Tolosa/Danena), third, 53" behind.
