Con la scalata del Monte Crostis, Domenico Pozzovico ha concluso il suo sopralluogo
in vista del prossimo Giro d’Italia. Il corridore lucano, della Colnago CSF Inox, ha
testato l’impegnativa ascesa della 14° tappa del Giro, da Lienz a Monte Zoncolan,
percorrendo i 1982 metri del Monte Crostis un salita con pendenze medie del 10%
e pendenze massime del 18%. “Questa salita probabilmente deciderà le sorti della
corsa – ha affermato Pozzovivo, 28 anni-. E’ un ascesa che mi piace, con un dislivello
importante già dai primi tornanti. E’ molto dura, da togliere il fiato quando le pendenze
diventano più arcigne. Dopo aver lasciato il paese di Tualis la strada si
stringe e diventa ancora più impegnativa. Poi c’è lo spauracchio del valsopiano
verso lo scollinamento e va tenuto conto della discesa, davvero da tenere in
considerazione perché molto pericolosa – ha evidenziato Pozzovivo-. E’una salita
che può far male e si farà sentire nelle gambe anche perché subito dopo ci sarà
da scalare il Zoncolan”. Per Pozzovivo, che durante la sua scalata ha incontrato
la neve negli ultimi tre chilometri, è stata l’occasione per provare gli ultimi 100
chilometri anche della frazione di Grossglockner (13°tappa) in Austria:
”Farà sicuramente selezione, non è impossibile ma impegnativa. Un arrivo
con pendenze importanti dove spero di essere protagonista”.
Un Pozzovivo concentrato e tranquillo che si sta allenamendo duramente perché
quest’anno vuole arrivare al Giro da protagonista e combattere per le posizioni
di testa.
