Last Tuesday at the 74th Coppa del Mobilio in Ponsacco, the amateur race that closed the season in Tuscany, Daniele Masiani, the Florentine sports director of Polisportiva Tripetetolo Seanese in Lastra a Signa, climbed into the team car for the last time in his role as director.

At the final race in Ponsacco, he was moved just as he had been when he first climbed into the team car. Masiani, who lives in Campi Bisenzio, was also an excellent rider for 11 years before spending 50 years as a sports director, reaching the impressive total of 61 years dedicated to cycling.

“First of all, I want to thank my parents and my family – says Daniele Masiani – who made this possible, and I also want to give my heartfelt thanks to Roberto Poggiali and Franco Bitossi who at the time made me fall in love with cycling and especially taught me so much so that I could be both an athlete and then a sports director.
