More excellent results for the Ale CX Team racing in Osoppo (Ud) at the 20th Memorial Jonathan Tabotta, an international C2 class race counting as the third stage of the Cyclocross Giro delle Regioni. A victory and a second-place finish, along with other podium-adjacent placements, made up the haul for the Modena-based team led by sports directors Milena Cavani and Eva Lechner.
The success bears the signature of Pablo Zanolini, an athlete from Bolzano born in 2013, who in the Beginners 2nd year category repeated the fine result from the second stage in Tarvisio by crossing the finish line first. Also excellent was the performance of Gioele Bertolini (making his debut at the Giro delle Regioni), the "beacon" of the Ale CX Team, finishing second in the Elite category just 5 seconds behind winner Stefano Viezzi. In the same race, Ettore Fabbro finished 8th (5th among Under 23s). Here is the comment at the end of the race from Valtellina biker Bertolini. "It was a super fast race, it was difficult to break up the group and we stayed ahead in 5 or 6 throughout the race. In the end, Viezzi managed to gain a few meters because Cafueri had a puncture and that gave him a few small seconds that proved insurmountable. I'm happy with my first race, the pace was really high and the second-place finish gratifies me and gives me morale for the upcoming races".
Just off the podium was Nicole Azzetti, fourth at the finish in the Women Open category (3rd in her Under 23 category). In the women's Junior race, the Ale CX Team was also prominent, placing Beatrice Maifré in 4th, Sara Peruta in 5th, Matilde Carretta in 6th, and Greta Masini in 10th. In the men's Junior race, Nicolas Scalorbi finished 7th and Riccardo Paolo Nadal 18th. Carlotta Lunghi took 7th place in the Women Juniors category, while Omar Berlini finished 20th in the 2nd year Juniors category.
Milena Cavani and Eva Lechner commented on the Osoppo results as follows. "We can be satisfied. For this season too, we have a nice group of young riders who have already blended well together, which is very important: they help each other a lot throughout the entire weekend and this leads them to always give their best. The results and good placements give us reason to be optimistic for the rest of the season. Focus on the next race".
The Ale CX Team will race next Sunday in Zoncolan (Ud) for the fourth stage of the 2026 Cyclocross Giro delle Regioni.
