On Saturday he dominated Il Lombardia, on Sunday he enjoyed riding at the Roc d'Azur, but it's not yet time for a vacation for Paul Seixas. As he explained on Saturday in Como, this week the French talent has decided to «ride a bit more this week, for pure pleasure, before truly switching off».
In reality, it will be an almost relaxing week for Paul Seixas: tomorrow in Besançon, he will undergo an end-of-season medical check together with all his Decathlon-CMA CGM 2027 teammates. An appointment that opens the door to the first training camp in preparation for the new season: the retreat will take place from October 19 to 23 at the team's preparation center in La Motte-Servolex (Savoy) and will be an opportunity for initial meetings with the staff, bike fitting sessions and postural analysis on the Van Rysel bikes for the upcoming season, various evaluations and measurements for the new kit.
As for the transfer operations of the Savoy-based team, confirmed departures are those of Gall and Muhlberger who will join Lidl Trek, Dewulf who will move to Lotto Intermarchè and Gautherat heading to UAE. On the other hand, De Plus will arrive from Netcompany, Eekhoff from Picnic PostNL, O'Connor from Jayco AlUla and Sivakov from UAE with Sparfel being promoted from the Devo team.
In light of his commitment to the team, it is presumable that Seixas will not fly to Paris for the official presentation of the 2027 Tour de France, scheduled for October 22. After the retreat ends, Seixas will begin his real vacation with a double interlude courtesy of ASO and Tour de France: the French talent will indeed be the most anticipated and applauded star at the Criteriums in Singapore (November 7 and 8) and in Saitama (Japan, November 15).
Not just cycling events for Seixas, who is becoming a true idol of French sports: on Sunday he is expected at the Groupama Stadium to kick off the Lyon-Nice match (7th day of Ligue 1) and, according to L'Equipe, on October 25 he could also be present at the Stade de France to watch the American football match between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints, two of the most important teams in American NFL.
