A great Italy, the one that climbs to the highest step of the world podium in a specialty like the Mixed Relay in which it has pursued the most beautiful medal since the first edition, in 2019.

At the foot of the podium the first to celebrate is technical commissioner Marco Villa who tells Raisport: "A beautiful victory in which I believed because throughout the week the two male and female groups supported each other, exchanging advice both for the individual time trial and for this relay. It is the triumph of a wonderful team and applause also goes to those who are not here, since among the first selected there were Affini and Venturelli, who then had physical problems, or Frigi and Baroncini who always showed their availability. Two years ago the president asked me to try to win the Team Relay and finally we managed it. And it is precisely the group that is the pillar of my way of working, I adopted it on the track and I replicated it also on the road: first you have to build the group and then work on the legs. For this reason I also asked the Federation to be able to count on Dario David Cioni who gave us a great hand and deserves great thanks".

The coach closes with a reflection: "From many quarters I hear people say 'this is missing, that is missing' but behind this choice there is a well-founded reason: it is difficult to bring together three men and three women who apply themselves with dedication, who accept suffering for one another, who really work as a team. And we were good at doing it".

What the six Italians dressed in the rainbow jersey then give us is a kaleidoscope of emotions in which the word team always remains at the center of all thoughts.

Vittoria Guazzini: "Truly a fantastic victory in a discipline I like: motivating each other is important, just as it is special to share even the last emotions before the start, go over the course together, give everything for the team. Really wonderful".

Matteo Sobrero: "We really believed in this result, we were focused, indeed I would say that for some time we were convinced that this was the right year. It is a special jersey, wearing it is beautiful and it is even more precious because once again we have shown that the team made the difference".

Mattia Cattaneo: "This jersey is something super, obtained in a specialty that is important for us: we are really happy to have won and to have shown how strong this group is".

Monica Trinca Colonel: "Actually this for me is a dream come true: I am super happy and sharing the victory with these guys makes it even more special. It was really hard, in the final Elisa really made me suffer, but I am happy and tonight I won't sleep for joy...".

Filippo Ganna: "This is a special group, we work together for years obviously not only with the guys who are here but also with those who were forced to stay home. From the beginning of the season we thought about it because Marco had told us about this opportunity, about this course suited to us. It is a great satisfaction".

Elisa Longo Borghini: "It seems a bit strange to have this jersey on, it is the very first rainbow jersey of my career and I confess that it gives me chills. Beautiful to have won it with this team, especially for me who has always believed so much in the work of the group".
