The grand comeback of the professional Giro di Campania officially takes place today, to reconnect a thread broken 25 years ago with Dmitri Konychev's victory and a history rich with prestigious winners such as Coppi, Bartali, Bitossi, De Vlaeminck, Saronni and Moser. The route will traverse the entire region and test the riders' legs, with its 189.5 kilometers from Caserta to Naples passing through the provinces of Benevento, Avellino and Salerno. Departure at 10 am from the Royal Palace and subsequent official start in Maddaloni.

It will be an authentic journey of wonders in a clockwise direction through Sannio, Irpinia and the Nocera Agro area up to the Amalfi Coast, which with its curves and attacks will lead towards the great protagonist of the route: the Agerola climb, 14km at 6% with the summit 497m from the finish and the Fausto Coppi stele greeting the public and cyclists. A selector of the group and a springboard for the most daring, Agerola will be decisive both for the winding nature of the ascent and for the battle between attackers and chasers, which could develop on the descent towards Castellammare di Stabia and continue until the finish line at Piazza Plebiscito.

The Giro di Campania, UCI 1.1 category, is part of the Coppa Italia delle Regioni, and has 124 riders from 18 teams at the start. The startlist is enhanced by the presence of two World Tour teams: Jayco AlUla, rich with Italians such as Andrea Vendrame, Alessandro Covi and Filippo Conca, with another former Giro d'Italia stage winner like Filippo Conca, and Movistar, which alongside various Academy talents fields a climber of the caliber of Colombian Einer Rubio.
