It is the story of Maurizio Taina, in his second year as a junior rider, from Caorso (Piacenza), regional champion of Emilia Romagna in team pursuit, fourth in the regional omnium championship as well as in the Madison. After many races spent chasing and after many placings, his first victory in San Mauro Torinese.

Maurizio beat Luca Sestini and Alessio Bozza in a sprint finish.
