Fernando Escartin, who is the man who designs the stages, has labeled it as a tricky stage on the race's profile: probably more than the altitude profile itself - there is only one categorized climb at the finish, the Port de Pauls, 3rd category, 4 km at 7.1% - the former director was thinking about the battle that will unfold between attackers and sprinter teams.

After Pogacar's show yesterday, in fact, the gaps in the general classification are becoming truly significant and many will want to try to take advantage of this opportunity, seeking a breakaway in the early part of the stage which presents itself as undulating.
