PINARELLO Q36.5, A THREE-YEAR DEAL FOR ANDREW AUGUST

Fresh off his victory at the Czech Tour, Andrew August has signed a three-year contract with the Pinarello Q36.5 team. Born in Rochester, New York, the twenty-year-old American rider arrives at a crucial moment in his young career. Coming off his overall victory at the Czech Tour, where he claimed two consecutive mountain stage wins before securing the general classification, August is no longer simply showing his potential—he is beginning to transform it into victories.

The triumph at the Czech Tour follows a 2026 season in which August has already won the Volta Comunitat Valenciana and secured his first WorldTour victory at the Itzulia Basque Country. Different races, different scenarios, and different ways of winning, but the same emerging picture of a rider whose limits are yet to be discovered.

Andrew August stated: «Winning the Czech Tour was a confirmation for me. I felt really in form during the training weeks leading up to it, and then everything came together. Winning the general classification and two stages gives me a lot of confidence. I'm still discovering my limits and what kind of rider I can become. Right now, I just want to keep discovering that and win as many races as possible”.

August grew up racing in the United States before moving to Europe as a junior. His career initially also included cyclocross, an experience that helped develop the aggressive racing instinct and bike handling skills he still brings to the peloton today.

At just 18 years old, he made the unusual jump from the junior categories directly to INEOS, spending his first three seasons as a professional in one of cycling's most established high-level environments.

«Racing in the United States is completely different from racing in Europe, so it was a big change for me, both as a junior and then as a professional. Joining INEOS at 18 meant jumping straight into the deep end, but it allowed me to learn how cycling works at the highest levels. From my first conversations with Pinarello Q36.5, the professionalism of the team really impressed me. It gave me a strong feeling that this was the best place to continue growing and become the best cyclist possible.”

This ambition fits perfectly with the Factory Team philosophy. From 2027 onwards, August will work directly with Pinarello, Q36.5, and Amacx, bringing him closer to the people who design and develop the bike, clothing, and nutritional products that contribute to his performance.

«This direct relationship is fundamental. Sometimes in professional cycling you're given equipment and told to make the best of it. When you work directly with partners, you can really make a difference and improve the product. That's also how we can give our best as a team.”

Douglas Ryder, Team Principal of Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, added: «Andrew is a rider who has impressed us for some time. At just 20 years old, he already has valuable WorldTour experience, and what stands out is the speed at which he continues to grow. His performances this season, including two stage wins and the overall victory at the Czech Tour, demonstrate both his talent and his ability to transform potential into results. We believe Andrew has all the qualities to become one of the leading riders of his generation. He is ambitious, determined to improve, and constantly looking for ways to perfect himself. Equally important is the mentality and professionalism necessary to succeed at the highest levels of this sport. Our goal is to provide him with the environment, support, and opportunities to continue this progression. We view this as a long-term project and are excited to help him take the next steps in his career. Andrew has already proven what he is capable of, but we believe he still has significant room for improvement and we can't wait to discover how far he can go in the years to come.”

Andrew August will join the Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling team on January 1st, 2027, with a three-year contract valid through the end of the 2029 season. At just 20 years old, he is already winning. The question now is: how far can he go?
