After the efforts of the Tour de France Femmes, culminating in the joy of Demi Vollering's victory, the Team Manager of FDJ United – SUEZ Stephen Delcourt presented himself in front of the cameras of the Bistrot Vélo program and addressed many topics, from the collaboration with Red Bull to reflections on the women's calendar.

THE TEAM'S NEXT OBJECTIVES. "We still have many objectives to achieve but I believe that by winning our third Grand Tour we have completed 'step 2' of the team. But there are still several things to improve and structure properly, if we don't continuously improve ourselves we will lose ground compared to other teams. I want to focus on innovation and improving working conditions for all the people who are with us and sacrifice their loved ones by staying away from home for a long time".

RED BULL AND A POSSIBLE NAME CHANGE? "Certainly the team's name will remain FDJ United – Suez until 2028, then anything is possible. We are proud to wear the colors of FDJ and to ride the fastest bicycles in the world. It is also true that at the beginning of the Tour we had two clear objectives: the yellow jersey and a good launch of the collaboration with Red Bull. We know how ambitious Red Bull is. Among the various points of the agreement there is sponsorship on helmets, the use of performance evaluation centers in Salzburg and Los Angeles and also collaboration for the multidisciplinary project. The arrival of Kate Courtney is a first example of this".

MULTIDISCIPLINARY. "For the future we are working on multidisciplinary activities. It's too early to reveal everything but we want to create something important around Celia Gery. With her and for her but also for the generation of athletes that will come, to do something great this winter in cyclocross".

THE DURATION OF THE TOUR DE FRANCE. "In the short term I don't think anything needs to change. Moving from nine to ten days is not decisive. The real change will have to happen gradually, also allowing less structured realities to face it".

THE CALENDAR. "The Tour de France Femmes is growing, it could take place at the same time as the men's race. La Vuelta should move to September so everything would be more balanced. Then, to improve further, we would need stage races at the beginning of the season like Tirreno or Paris – Nice and then we're missing the Giro di Lombardia Femminile to complete the calendar".

THE JOY OF WINNING THE TOUR DE FRANCE FEMMES. "The Tour de France is something unique, and the moment we experienced is something special. I had been dreaming of this victory for twenty years and hoped to live such a moment. We have won many races, but everyone on the team knows perfectly well that this was the race we wanted to win more than any other".

VOLLERING'S STRENGTH. "Demi from the beginning of the season has shown great consistency in performance, but what strikes me is how she manages to raise the bar a little higher each time. She wants the whole team to be focused on the objective, she has extreme confidence in the staff and her teammates and everyone sacrifices themselves for her because they know she will do her best to achieve the objective".

THE GERY vs NIEWIADOMA CONTROVERSY "Celia didn't make a mistake. She took that corner with the right attitude needed at the Tour de France if you want to win. Anyone who has ridden a bike knows what happens when you take corners like that very quickly: no mistakes. Kasia apologized after Sunday's stage, after Demi intervened during the race. I want to close the matter by saying that I can understand what happened on Saturday: when a stage ends you are charged with emotions, you may not be happy. Kasia lost the jersey, I can understand her, but I also think she could have apologized immediately, perhaps advised by her Team Manager and her staff. She made a serious mistake. We're talking about a very experienced athlete. Celia, on the other hand, is a twenty-year-old girl who also received serious threats on social media".
