Misfortune struck on the roads of the fifth stage of the Tour de France Femmes for Noemi Rüegg. The Swiss rider from EF Education-Oatly, who had been in a breakaway for much of the day, hit the ground when thirty kilometers remained to the finish, right near the climb of Col de Durbize.

As the footage shows, the 25-year-old native of Schöfflisdorf had dropped back from the group she was part of and was climbing at her own pace when, after losing control, she was struck by the neutral support motorcycle.

Fortunately, within moments Noemi got back on her bike and continued, finishing the stage in 36th place. The only consequence of the incident was a fine of 200 Swiss Francs and a yellow card issued by the Race Commissaires to the Shimano motorcycle driver.
