From North Carolina to Val Trompia for a week to explore the world of cycling. Tomorrow the Aspiratori Otelli sports group will welcome Charlie Dockendorf, a young American student who chose Italy and specifically the Sarezzo team to learn firsthand about the world of two wheels. 

"I want to learn more - Charlie says before his departure about cycling because it's a beautiful sport, but also unique because it's both a team sport and an individual one. It requires a lot of dedication and commitment and I can't wait to dive deeper into it. I'm 19 years old and I attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I study Political Science, Business Economics and Italian and I have a Morehead-Cain scholarship. In the United States I ride my bike often, I grew up racing and competing in mountain bike competitions in the youth enduro and cross country scene. Recently I started road cycling and I fell in love with it. I can't wait to start racing soon".

"I chose - he continues - to collaborate with Aspiratori Otelli because it perfectly embodies what makes cycling so special. It's a reality that helps young people develop a passion for this sport and become high-level athletes. This team attracts me because it seems like a group of people who really care for one another. Personally, I've never been to Italy so I'm not quite sure what to expect. I hope to take beautiful bike rides, meet interesting people and see wonderful places. I'm excited to learn from the team's coaches about how to train and manage a competitive team". In fact, Charlie has one first wish. "I can't wait to eat gelato and drink an espresso."
