Angelo Citracca and Luca Scinto have been sanctioned by the Federal Court with a five-year ban. An extremely harsh sentence issued for equally serious charges.
Here is the operative part of the sentence:
The Federal Court Section I in collegial composition represented by Messrs.: Avv. Patrich Rabaini – President; Avv. Carlo Carpanelli – Judge; Avv. Mattia Cornazzani - Judge with the assistance of Secretary Avv. Marzia Picchioni (FCI Official).
In the proceedings registered at No. 3/26 R.G. Court against Mr. Citracca Angelo, in his capacity as team manager of the Vini Zabù Brado KTM company, represented and defended by Avv. Maria Laura Guardamagna and Mr. Scinto Luca, in his capacity as sports director of the Vini Zabù Brado KTM company, represented and defended by Avv. Marco Danilo Cecconi, called to answer the following disciplinary violations in their respective capacities:
- art. 4, paragraph 2, Federal Statute (sporting loyalty);
- art. 4, paragraph 11, Federal Statute (compliance with the CONI Code of Sporting Ethical Conduct);
- arts. 1, paragraph 3, 6, paragraphs 2 and 3, 7, paragraphs 2 and 6, Federal Ethical Code (respect for state laws, loyalty, integrity, honesty, moral rigor also for the purpose of protecting the Federation's image);
- art.1 Federal Justice Regulations (rectitude and moral correctness);
the above in violation of the duties of:
- respect for state laws;
- sporting loyalty, integrity, honesty, moral rigor and rectitude;
- protection of the Federation's image;
as per the aforementioned provisions.
The Federal Court Section I
finally ruling, in the proceedings registered at no. 3/26 R.G. Court, having regard to arts. 43 and 49 of the Federal Justice Regulations, having found the disciplinary responsibility of the defendants Messrs. Citracca Angelo and Scinto Luca, with respect to the charges brought against them in the counts of accusation, applies the sanction of a ban for 5 (five) years plus €5,000.00 in fines, effective from June 5, 2026 and until June 5, 2031.
Citracca and Scinto have been referred to trial, together with Davide Del Sarto, former sports director, also by criminal justice with charges ranging from attempted extortion to receiving stolen goods for having possessed documents bearing the ASL stamp, which would have been used to produce medical prescriptions for doping substances.
