Matteo Paltrinieri takes center stage and conquers the 28th edition of Fiorano–Fiorano, a national amateur classic held in the Modena region. The young rider from Massa Finalese, who celebrated his 19th birthday just yesterday, delivered a prestigious victory for Technipes Caffè Borbone under the leadership of president Gianni Carapia.
Paltrinieri produced a display of great maturity, sealed by an authoritative final sprint that secured him victory ahead of Andrea Biancalani of Beltrami TSA Tre Colli, in second place, while the team's celebration was completed by Riccardo Archetti's third place finish, who also delivered a memorable performance on the day.
THE RACE. The race was decided in the final stages, when the team pulled away a group of five riders with Paltrinieri, Riccardo Archetti and Emanuele Ansaloni among the protagonists. To capitalize on their numerical advantage, Archetti attempted to make the difference with a solo attack, only to be caught one kilometer from the finish. At that point, Paltrinieri unleashed the perfect acceleration, resisting Andrea Biancalani's (Beltrami) comeback and securing a splendid victory. Riccardo Archetti finished third, Emanuele Ansaloni fourth: an exceptional team result.
Paltrinieri's victory caps off very positive days across Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna. On Sunday, May 31st at the Trofeo Città di San Giovanni Valdarno, Alessandro Cattani secured a splendid second place, with Nicolò Pizzi seventh. A race contested with personality and great consistency of performance, which confirms Cattani among the most in-form riders in the Italian Continental scene.
The day before, Saturday, May 30th, at the 70th Giro Ciclistico del Montalbano, the team had already made a strong showing with Riccardo Archetti sixth and Nicolò Pizzi tenth. Archetti had made several moves in the final, demonstrating great form and initiative. Pizzi, who spent much of the race in a breakaway, was also rewarded in the day's mountain points. Two days in Tuscany, two strong signals from the entire group, confirmed by the big move at Fiorano.
The 2026 season of Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna Caffè Borbone continues to deliver important satisfaction. Five victories with four different riders (Pizzi, Bambagioni twice, Menghini, Paltrinieri), numerous podiums in the national and international calendar, the double national team selection of Bambagioni and Cattani for the Tour of the Alps, excellent performances in Belgium and at the Ronde de l'Isard. The team confirms itself as one of the most competitive Continental formations in Italy and beyond.
For the team conceived in 2019 by Davide Cassani and promoted by APT Servizi Emilia Romagna, presided over by Gianni Carapia and directed from the team car by Francesco Chicchi alongside other sporting directors Michele Coppolillo, Mauro Calzoni and Andrea Gallo, with Gian Luca Giardini as project manager, 2026 continues to be a season of great satisfaction, which testifies to the quality of a project capable of developing young talents and bringing them to compete at the highest levels.
