Yesterday in Rome concluded the Giro d'Italia, the 44th edition in the history of Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber. Once again, the Reverberi family team has managed to play a leading role throughout the three weeks of the Corsa Rosa, distinguishing itself for its attacking spirit, presence in breakaways and prestigious results.
Manuele Tarozzi was a great protagonist, delivering an attacking Giro. The rider from Faenza accumulated over 1,000 kilometers in breakaways across the 21 stages, significantly improving on the already significant figure from last year's edition, when he had stopped at 600 kilometers. This enterprising approach allowed him to win the Mountains Classification and come close to success in the Red Bull Km standings as well.
The balance sheet on the placings front was also excellent. Enrico Zanoncello achieved 10th place in the third stage and 9th in the sixth stage with the finish in Naples. In the same stage, Lorenzo Magli secured an excellent 8th place, a result he then replicated in the 18th stage with the finish in Pieve di Soligo.
The most emotional moment of the Giro for Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber came in the prestigious Milan stage. Martin Marcellusi crowned a great performance by securing a splendid third place, stepping onto the podium on one of the most important days of the Giro d'Italia. Marcellusi himself stood out not only with his results but also with his breakaway kilometers, a solid 500km.
"We close this Giro with great satisfaction – declared team manager Roberto Reverberi –. The guys interpreted the race exactly as we had asked: always attacking, always protagonists and unafraid to take on responsibilities. Tarozzi's Mountains Classification victory, the breakaway kilometers and Marcellusi's podium in Milan are results that reward the work of the entire team. We return home proud of what we've accomplished and with great confidence for the rest of the season".
