Only a few days remain until one of the most anticipated events for gravel enthusiasts and beyond. The Valchiavenna Gravel Escape, now in its third edition, is preparing to welcome hundreds of cyclists from over 5 different nations for a weekend dedicated to passion for two wheels, discovering the territory, and conviviality.

The event, organized by Valchiavenna Turismo in collaboration with US Chiavennese and supported by volunteers, has become a fixed appointment on the gravel cycling calendar. The winning formula that determined the success of previous editions is confirmed: 3 surprise routes discovering Valchiavenna, between Lake Como and Switzerland, gourmet refreshment stops, the warm hospitality typical of the territory, and a festive atmosphere that transforms Chiavenna into a true cycling village.

The event schedule

Friday, May 8, 8:45 PM – The event opens at the Victoria Cinema Theatre in Chiavenna with the presentation of the book "Training Differently – for healthy and high-performance sport" by Alessandro Donati, on the topic of ethical training methods. Moderated by Marco Zanghieri, President of the Libere Menti Valchiavenna Association.

Saturday, May 9

10:00 AM - 7:00 PM – Opening of the village in Piazza Bertacchi with stands, product testing, music, and DJ set

10:00 AM - 2:00 PM – Test bikes in collaboration with Basso Bikes company, which will showcase the company's latest innovations with Road bikes (SV) and Gravel bikes (Palta 3)

10:30 AM – Kids Ride departure for children aged 6-10 and Juniors aged 10-18

3:00 PM - 6:00 PM – Social Ride with the Enough team to discover some of the most beautiful routes in the area together

Sunday, May 10 – The main day

7:30 AM – Village opening, registration desk, and welcome bag collection

8:30 AM – Closing of on-site registrations

8:30 AM - 9:30 AM – French-style departure for those who prefer to manage their own pace

9:00 AM – Group departure to experience the emotion of the start together

12:30 PM – Pasta Party opening with local specialties to recharge your energy

5:00 PM – Prize draw (attendance is required)

6:00 PM – Village closing

An international event

This year the event confirms its international dimension with the participation of cyclists from over 5 nations. In addition to Italians, enthusiasts are expected from Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, testament to the growing appeal of Valchiavenna as a cycle tourism destination.

Online registrations will close on May 7, but it will be possible to register on-site on the day of the event with an increased registration fee, until 8:30 AM. The route traces will be communicated to participants via email on May 8.

Refreshment points are provided along the route, but no technical assistance. It is therefore recommended to start with your bike in perfect condition and with the necessary equipment for minor repairs. Technical assistance will be available in the village area.

The event is part of the national CSAIN program, with the contribution of Lombardy Region and BIM.
