Uno-X Mobility breaks the silence and becomes the first team to announce its roster for the upcoming Giro d'Italia 2026. The Scandinavian team officially unveils the eight riders who will line up at the start of the Corsa Rosa next May 8th from Bulgaria, proposing an all-Norwegian selection focused on attacking racing with Johannes Kulset as the general classification leader, Erlend Blikra as the sprinter for bunch finishes and national champion Andreas Leknessund leading the assault on stages with long-range breakaways. This will be Uno-X's first-ever participation in the Giro.
With a post on their Instagram page, Uno-X Mobility reveals the team for its first Giro d'Italia and makes no secret of its main objective, which will be partial victories. "Our team for the first Giro d'Italia ever in the men's category. The objective is to win stages - reads the caption on the poster with the roster - Johannes Kulset is aiming for the general classification. Eight riders ready to race the Giro the Uno-X way: bold, united and determined. We can't wait to tackle this magnificent race". Here is the list:
BLIKRA Erlend
DVERSNES LAVIK Fredrik
HOELGAARD Markus
HOLTER Ådne
KULSET Johannes
LEKNESSUND Andreas
LØLAND Sakarias Koller
TJØTTA Martin
Kulset will therefore be the man who will try to manage the general classification and enter a top 10 that would mean a lot for the Scandinavian team promoted this year to World Tour status. The objective is far from new given that it was already mentioned during the winter retreat, when the 22-year-old Norwegian confirmed his program for the first months of 2026, with peak form expected for May. After a seventh place at the Trofeo Serra Tramuntana and sixth at the Trofeo Andratx - Pollença at the end of January, Kulset came close to the top 10 at the Vuelta Andalucia (11th) last February. However, sports director Emil Vinjebo tempers expectations: "The dream is to see him fighting for the top 10, but the most important thing is that he experiences the feeling of fighting for every second for 3 weeks".
Erlend Blikra will throw himself into the mix in bunch sprints. This year he has already won at the Tour of Oman (fourth stage) and then achieved two second places at the UAE Tour and two at the Région Pays de la Loire Tour. The third notable name is Andreas Leknessund, particularly impressive in 2026 with second place overall in Andalucia and numerous breakaways from Paris-Nice to the Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Markus Hoelgaard will have the role of team director, leveraging his experience in the Grand Tours, coming into play both in the lead-out train for sprints and in support of Kulset, while Fredrik Dversnes Lavik will try to exploit his speed in reduced finishes as already demonstrated last year at Tirreno-Adriatico and the Arctic Race. Sakarias Koller Løland will serve as the last man in the sprint train and finally Martin Tjøtta and Ådne Holter will assist Kulset in the more complicated stages.
