The Belgian cycling world is in mourning. Promising twenty-one-year-old cyclist Milan Bral has died following a serious road accident in Ronse. Bral was transported to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.The tragedy occurred on Saturday afternoon in Ronse, near the Hotond.

Milan Bral was hit by a car during a training session.The twenty-one-year-old rider from cycling team Dovy Keukens FCC was taken to Ghent hospital with serious injuries,fought for his life for hours, but passed away in the evening. 

«Milan was much more than a cyclist to us - his team wrote on social media -. He was a fantastic guy, a true teammate, always ready to help others and with an important role within the team. He was loved by everyone and we will miss him greatly. Milan will forever remain part of our team». 

In his third year in the Under 23 category, Bral recently finished 5th in the time trial of the West Flanders Provincial Championship in Ruddervoorde. In the road race of the same championship, in Anzegem, he finished 8th. Cycling is a fundamental part of the Bral family's life. Milan's younger brother, Xibe, races in the junior category, and former cyclist Sep Vanmarcke is the uncle of Xibe and Milan.

His younger brother Xibe posted a touching farewell message on Instagram. «Dear Milan, my older brother. I can't imagine what life will be like without you now. Every time you came to me to talk about races in a positive way, but also when you got angry because I made a mistake, you made me a much stronger person. I remember very well that you couldn't wait for the next races: the Belgian time trial championship and especially Ghent-Wevelgem, where you absolutely wanted to finish in the top 10. Milan, I will miss you so much, because I truly admired you. But you probably already knew that. I will do everything I can this season to point my finger to the sky to dedicate a victory to you. You always told me one phrase: 'DREAM BIG'. I certainly will. Rest in peace up there, my dear older brother. I will miss you».
