Carlos Canal won the second stage of the 5th O Gran Camiño - The Historical Route, the Vilalba - Barreiros stage of 148.6 km, characterized by the climb to Alto de Noceda (2.6 km at 8.4%) about twenty kilometers from the finish. It was here that the group of the best riders was selected, with Canal, riding for Movistar, crossing the finish line ahead of Luxembourg's Wenzel (Equipo Kern Pharma) and Uruguayan Eric Fagundez of Burgos Burpellet BH. Sixth place went to young Venetian Alessandro Pinarello of NSN Cycling Team.
Portuguese Rafael Reis of Anicolor claimed the leader's jersey in the general classification.
