Tommaso Dati achieved a splendid victory in the third stage of the Settimana Coppi e Bartali, crowning excellent teamwork by TEAM UKYO.
The young Italian was guided to perfection in the final kilometers by Nicolò Garibbo and Federico Iacomoni: Dati then launched his sprint at the right moment, securing the victory with a wide margin.
«The last corner was crucial and we approached it in a perfect position. Giving this victory to the team is truly fantastic for me».
Team manager Manuele Boaro expressed his satisfaction at the end of the race: «The riders decided among themselves during the race who would be the leader for the sprint. Dati said he was feeling great, so Garibbo and Iacomoni gave their all to help him. That it worked out is fantastic, and that they believe in each other's potential is even better».
Boaro also highlighted the importance of the result for Dati on a personal level: «In the first stage he could have already achieved an excellent result, but he got stuck and couldn't show his power. Today he had the opportunity again and the whole team supported him perfectly. It's great to see him secure this victory».
Dati himself was clearly satisfied with both the result and the team. «I'm extremely happy with the victory. We set up the sprint together from the start and everything went according to plan. I can't thank my teammates enough for helping me achieve this victory».
The Italian rider also reflected on the significance of the result for the team: «For a continental team like TEAM UKYO, this is a very important result. We had already demonstrated our strength at the beginning of the season in Sardinia with Garibbo, and now we've done it again here. We work hard every day, so seeing the results of this effort means a lot».
Thanks to his victory, Dati now moves to the top of the Coppa Italia delle Regioni classification and especially climbs to second place in the general classification (+2"), followed by Federico Iacomoni in eighth place (fourth in the stage) and Nicolò Garibbo in fifteenth (the last two both 12 seconds behind the leader).
