This early 2026 is proving to be quite challenging for Jordan Jegat. The twenty-six-year-old French rider, coming off an undoubtedly positive season that saw him finish in the top ten in races like Tour du Kyushu, AlUla Tour, Tour de l'Ain and especially Tour de France, is still dealing with knee issues that, after slowing him down (along with the flu) in December, continue to complicate his days.
This was confirmed by the native of Vannes himself through his social media accounts, who, given his absence from competitions in these first weeks, decided to update his fans on his current form and the problems he is experiencing.
"At the start of this season, I am unable to line up at the start of races. For almost two months, I haven't been able to train and live my daily life as an athlete as I would like, due to knee problems and frustration is inevitable," the Breton rider admitted on Instagram.
"However, my motivation is intact and I am working with all my strength to return as soon as possible. In the meantime, I'll be in front of the TV cheering for my TotalEnergies teammates."
In light of this situation that is struggling to resolve itself, Jegat (forced to miss the Tour of Oman which was supposed to be his first commitment of the season) will clearly need to revise his schedule for the first half of 2026, taking into account how and if he will be able to put together an acceptable form in the coming weeks.
This has obviously not happened from January 17th (the day of his first outing on French roads after the Calpe training camp) until today, as according to the activities uploaded in these 26 days on his Strava account, the French '99 class rider has not managed to cover more than 375 kilometers, a (limited) distance that is quite indicative of the difficulties he has encountered in the past month.
Jegat hopes to get rid of these soon to concretely set his sights on participating in Paris-Nice on March 8th and start showing those qualities that, in 2025, allowed him to achieve significant satisfaction and be the second most prolific rider in terms of points (after Jeannière) for TotalEnergies, a team that, for obvious reasons, also hopes that one of its key riders can soon find his rightful place in the group.
