Vittoria Grassi nearly won the Eastern GP which was held yesterday in the late Italian afternoon in El Salvador over a distance of seventy-six kilometers. The twenty-year-old Piedmontese sprinter from Vini Fantini – BePink launched herself in the sprint that decided the race and crossed the finish line in Usulután in second place beaten only by Marjolein van 't Geloof, the 29-year-old Dutch rider from Laboral Kutxa - Fundación Euskadi, who had already won the first stage of the Tour of El Salvador. Completing the podium was Chilean champion Catalina Soto, also wearing the Laboral Kutxa - Fundación Euskadi jersey.
